The student feedback system is available at any time during the semester for lecturers who would like to seek early feedback on their teaching or subjects. If you would like to order student feedback questionnaires, please refer to the UTS Evaluation Guide for information and an order form. To obtain a copy of the guide (1998 revised edition), please contact CLT on 9514 2200 or access the guide via the web at: http://www.clt.uts.edu.au/sfot.html Please photocopy the order form from the back of the guide booklet, or print one from the web at: http://www.clt.uts.edu.au/fr1.html Complete one signed order form for each class in each subject where you would like to gain feedback. Send your order forms to CLT, Broadway or fax them to us on 9514 2217. We will generate individual computer-scannable questionnaires for each class and send you the number of copies you request. Please allow two weeks for your order to be processed and your questionnaires to be returned to you. Important note: Please do not use pre-1998 evaluation booklets, questionnaires from previous semesters or photocopies of questionnaires. Our computer system is not able to process these to produce an individual report. CLT staff can also provide advice and assistance with other forms of evaluation. Please contact Anna Reid on 9514 1366, Jo McKenzie on 9514 2198 or your faculty liaison person. Frequently asked questions on Student Feedback: Q: How can I get feedback before the end of semester? A: You can participate in the system at any time by ordering questionnaires as described above. Short, individually tailored questionnaires can be very useful for getting feedback early in the semester. Q: I would like to use the SEQ but how do I get overall rating questions for both my subject and teaching? A: Please tick both boxes A and B on the order form for both overall ratings and open ended questions about your teaching and the subject. Q: How do I use most of the SEQ but include some questions tailored to my subject? A: The best approach would be to replace the six items from the generic skills scale with six items of your choice taken from the item bank. To do this, on your order form tick box A or B (or both), write "replace generic skills items" and write the item numbers you have selected in the blank spaces at the bottom of the form. If you want to keep some of the generic skills questions because they are particularly relevant to your subject, simply specify which ones to change, using the question numbers from page 6 of the UTS Evaluation Guide. Q: I'm a subject co-ordinator. How do I organise questionnaires for my part-timers? A: If you would like your casual/part-time staff to gain feedback, please either have them complete forms as described above, or alternatively if they are in agreement you may organise it on their behalf. Please note that the questionnaire and results will be sent to the staff member directly, not the subject co-ordinator.
